Tell me about yourself?

Hi, my name is Ben (Haze) and I have been DJing since 1998 and producing since 2002. I run my own label called Executive Records which is the longest running Australian Hardcore label. I write, engineer, mixdown and master all my own productions. I have also worked/engineered with other artists such as Team Rocket, Weaver, JTS, Impact, Archie, Nick Arbor, Nik Fish, Halu Suzuki, Daniel Payne, Suae, Pulsar, Steve Hill, Analog, Destiny, NitrouZ, Dudlee, Raziel, Implex, Dover & S3RL.

What other genres of music do you write?

I write Drum & Bass & Jungle under the alias D-Vide and have had releases on Lucky Breaks Digital, Future Breakz Recordings & my own Executive Records. I also write every now and then Hard Trance, Gabber, Old Skool and Breakbeat Hardcore.

What can we expect to hear from you this Friday at OneSeventy?

This Friday I have carefully picked some of my favourite productions since 2003. There are a lot of songs to go through but I will be playing a mixture or Hardcore and Freeform. I will also be playing some songs that never got released. This is the first time in a long time I have had the opportunity to showcase myself as an artist and I am very excited. I will be scratching and sampling as well.

How is everything going with Executive Records?

The label re-launched this year after a two year break. We have had five releases so far and currently have another 10 to release. Our songs include remixes from big UK artists and original tracks.

Towards the end of the year I will be releasing a S3RL album complete with new remixes of his older tracks and remasters of some of his biggest hits.
